POSITION:                           COMMERCIAL QUOTATIONS SPECIALIST

LOCATION:                         WINNIPEG, MANITOBA


DUTIES:                                               

  • Prepare professional detailed quotations for customers, primarily specializing in, but not limited to, commercial / construction industry
  • Analyze project specifications to determine if requirements are achievable and profitable to the company
  • Perform material take-offs from project drawings
  • Coordinate with key suppliers to compile cost prices to achieve a competitive edge while maintaining established profit margins and provide a complete package of material for the customer
  • Ensure bids are received within specified deadlines and strict delivery terms are observed and received for accepted bids by the suppliers
  • Maintain constant relationship with customers to prepare project bidder list
  • Analyze bids submitted by our vendors to determine most beneficial offering as well as our relative position vis-à-vis our competitors
  • Coordinate with FSRs and management to ensure that full information is diseminated
  • Ensure jobs are tracked and billings are completed
  • Maintain contact with customers to introduce products and services available and build a lucrative business relationship
  • Assist with general duty incoming phone calls
  • Assist in the preparation of quotes for "B" materials as well as requests from industrial and institutional customers

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent product knowledge and 2-5 years related experience including Counter, and/or Inside/Outside Sales
  • Excellent communication skills with good interpersonal skills, be a team player and customer-service oriented
  • Must have good organizational and sales skills
  • Must be comfortable with deadline pressure, unexpected changes
  • AS400 experience an asset
  • Microsoft Office an asset

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

The incumbent is responsible for meeting with current and potential customers to identify needs and proper means of satisfying those needs; he/she further prepares account proposals.  He/she is responsible for cultivating key business relationships through maintenance of good rapport and providing information on new products and technologies to preserve good business relations.  The Outside Sales Representative is also accountable for marketing new products and services available, providing training seminars and offering technical support to the customers.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Meets with account customers to discuss topics of concern, service issues and product competition. 
  • Offers promotional incentives and negotiates contracting requirements and terms of account to produce a proposal.
  • Cultivates key business relationships within assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers and solicit orders. 
  • Maintains good rapport and informs of sales promotions to foster a high level of service and sales.
  • Acts as a liaison to resolve concerns with customers and maintain a desired level of service.
  • Investigates current and forecasted requirements and introduces products and services available.
  • Prepares miscellaneous and urgent quotes on plans and specifications offering competitive pricing and schedules to issue a sale.
  • Ensures all quotes issued are received according to stipulated deadlines.
  • Conducts a follow-up interview to ensure customer satisfaction. 
  • Compares pricing and market conditions to determine reasons for receiving or losing an account.
  • Completes all related account and sales reporting documents in a timely manner.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

            High School education plus a minimum of three (3) years related electrical industry experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

The successful candidate is responsible for ensuring product is received, shelved, selected and shipped to our customers accurately and on time.  The position may report under one of the following areas of responsibility in the warehouse: Receiving, Shelving, Order Selection or Shipping.   • Previous experience in warehousing and logistics an asset
  • Experience in operating sit down counter balance and reach truck equipment an asset
  • Accuracy in counting and product verifications
  • Scanning and barcode experience an asset

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure electrical estimates are accurate and competitive throughout all aspects of industrial construction projects
  • Prepare detailed and economical material and labor cost estimates
  • Coordinate and manage short-term projects
  • Network with customers and contractors to develop effective business relationships
  • Assist in tendering procedures and reviewing of contracts

Qualifications and Skills

·   Completion of Electrical Engineering Technology diploma, or valid Journeyperson

    Electrician ticket, or a combination of industrial training and experience

·   5+ years of experience with electrical estimating on industrial projects

·   Effective organization, time management and communication skills

·   Excellent technical and numerical skills

·   Ability to meet tight deadlines and thrive in a busy office environment

·   Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

·   Working knowledge of various Microsoft office applications

We are currently recruiting to fill the position of Operations Manager at our Winnipeg location. Reporting to the Corporate Operations Manager, the Operations Manager plans, organizes, coordinates and leads the operations of the Winnipeg office. The Operations Manager must apply well-developed skills and abilities in project planning, client service delivery, technical knowledge, problem solving, financial stewardship, partnership building, and leadership throughout all aspects of work.  In addition, the Operations Manager is responsible for the overall management and profitability of the Winnipeg office and must demonstrate a commitment to safety, an entrepreneurial attitude and an aptitude to generate business leads and growth opportunities for the company.

 

Candidates must possess a minimum of ten years of experience, including at least five years of supervisory or management experience. Preference will be given to candidates with key contacts and relevant experience in the industry in addition to the following qualifications:

 

·         A four-year Electrical Engineering degree with a P. Eng designation, or a diploma in Electrical  Engineering Technology, or Journeyperson Electrician certification; a combination of education and experience will be considered

·         Industry related managerial and project management experience in the areas of hiring and mentoring staff, managing resources, meeting financial targets and implementing cost control strategies

·         Ability to work well with others in a variety of situations and conditions, as well as the capacity to resolve conflicts and provide effective solutions to both technical and non-technical issues

·         Enthusiasm and initiative to generate new business leads and increase the exposure of company products and services

·         Ability to effectively develop, build and lead high performing teams

·         Proven leadership, business acumen and analytical capabilities
