It was party time for the M.E.L. on Friday, November 20, at the Victoria Inn. Almost 300 people turned up for The
annual AGM/Gala and charity Silent Auction. The Band, "Mother Groove" was excellent and the dance floor was
busy all evening. The Victoria Inn served up a scrumptious sirloin steak dinner and each couple received a complimentary,
professionally taken photograph of themselves. The theme was "New Orleans Mardi Gras" and a travel voucher
for $4,000 was the door prize.

Rob Ruys presents door prize winner, Gary Klippenstien from Gescan with
the $4000.00 travel voucher. The Reason Behind The Fun
The Silent Auction, held at the AGM/Gala, as well as the individual member
donations, raised almost $10,000 for the Burn Fund this year, a new record. Once again the M.E.L. membership showed
their class and commitment to the community by opening their wallets for this most worthy cause.
Martin Johnson of the Firefighters Burn Fund (R) accepts a cheque for $9877.45 from AGM chair Randy Knutson Sponsors of the Silent Auction also deserve a great deal of thanks as it was their donation of cash and product that
allowed the auction to happen:
