BARRY DONALD NORMAN

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barry Norman, loving husband of Janice on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the age of 59 years. Remaining to forever cherish Barry's memory is his wife Janice. His brothers Keith, Grant (Barb), Glen, Clark (Linda), Lloyd (Christie); his brothers-in-law Ron (Lori) Dubinsky, and John Dubinsky and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Leslie and Leah Norman and father-in-law and mother-in-law Julius and Hedy Dubinsky, also sister-in-laws Diane and Sue Norman. Born in Dufresne in 1950, Barry graduated from Red River College in Instrumentation Technology. He started his career at Atomic Energy of Canada in Pinawa where he worked for 10 years, before returning to Winnipeg. He worked for Cantech and Tyco for 19 years before starting his own business in 2001. He was well respected in the business community. Barry married the love of his life, Janice, in 1976. He will be sadly missed by his boys Blaire and Marlowe. Barry enjoyed golfing, curling and was a longtime season ticket holder of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Janice and Barry loved attending the games. Barry enjoyed his yearly winter vacations with Janice to the Caribbean, especially their place in Aruba. He loved family outings and good times with friends!

The family gratefully thanks the staff of St. Boniface Hospital, 5th floor B wing, and CancerCare St. Boniface for their care and compassion. Flowers gratefully declined, should friends so desire, donations can be made in Barry's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9 or the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 0R3.

KATHY PETROWSKI BROWN July 5, 1955 - April 21, 2009 With her husband, family and friends by her side at Riverview Heath Centre, Kathy gave up the long and hard fought battle with cancer, April 21, 2009 at the age of 53. Kathy was predeceased by her father Charlie and brother-in-law, Wally. Left to cherish her memory are: husband Brian; mother Olga Petrowski; sister Carol Cherkas (Ernie); brother Frank Petrowski and Christopher; niece Jennifer Cherkas; nephew Grant Cherkas (Brenda) and children; close friends Janet, Lee, Shirley, Bill and Bev, Fred and Donna. Kathy began her life in Vita, Manitoba and at an early age moved to Winnipeg where she attended Fort Richmond Collegiate. Her career started with Tri-Mac Trucking then moved on to the City of Winnipeg and lastly finding her niche with Manitoba Hydro in Codes and Standards. There she met and developed numerous and close friendships. Especially were her Boss Bill McMullen, and the Electrical Inspectors whom she referred to as her boys. Her most proud accomplishment, while undergoing treatment was her ride in the Riverview Cycle On Life in June of 2008, where she completed the 15 km course and raised well over $3,000.00 in pledges. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the Doctors and Nurses at CancerCare Manitoba and the Riverview Centre who made Kathy's brief stay at a warm and compassionate experience.
